Danger Online

One afternoon Brandi and her best friend were walking home from school. They decided to walk to Brandi’s house that day because her parents are going to be out of town this weekend. Once they got to Brandi’s house they went in and went to her room and laid on her bed. Jasmine said “Hey, let's go down to El Tap and get something to eat.” So Brandi said “Sure, yeah let's go.”

Once they got to El Tap they found seats and got menus and started to look to see what they wanted. Brandi ordered a Grilled Chicken salad and Jasmine ordered a Shrimp Quesadilla. As they sat and waited for their food they discussed what they were going to do this weekend since Brandi’s parents were going to be out of town. Brandi said “Let’s throw a huge party and invite all the seniors and a bunch of hot guys.” Jasmine said “No, i think we should just stay home and and play online on that one cool site and meet hot guys like last weekend.” Brandi agreed and said “Okay, yeah that sounds good.”  

They got back to Brandi’s house and went to her parents room grabbed their laptops and went to Brandi’s room. They laid on her bed together and got on a bunch of sites and started messaging people online that they thought were hot. Hours and hours went by as they played online talking to guys. Then all of a sudden Jasmine screams at the top of her lungs, Brandi said “What!” “What is it, whats wrong?” She says softly “This guy seemed sweet and nice but then he started to tell me all these things he would do to me and sent me disgusting pictures.” Brandi said “Oh, that’s it. That happens all the time on these sites, just play along.” So Jasmine just shut off the computer and rolled over and went to sleep. Brandi stayed up and continued to talk to guys online.

It was about 4:30 am and Brandi was still up online talking to the same guy she had been talking to. His name that she knew him by was Derek. She really liked him and they planned on hanging out tomorrow after Jasmine left. She gave him her address, name, number, and what school she goes too. They were meeting at 5 pm tomorrow at the school and they were gonna go to a movie and dinner. It was around 5:15 am and she finally decided to go to bed. Jasmine woke up at 8 am and went to wake up Brandi. Brandi screamed and tossed and turned and told her to leave her alone and let her sleep. It was already 3pm and Brandi still wasn't awake so Jasmine woke her up and told her the time and that she was going home. Brandi looked at her rolled over and went back to sleep.

It was 4:15 pm already and Brandi was still asleep and Derek was blowing up her phone. She finally woke up around 4:30ish and she looked at the time and jumped up and freaked out and started getting ready. She texted Derek and told him she just woke up and there still on for today but not til 5:30 so she has time to get ready. He was fine with it and told her he’d meet her there. Brandi jumped in the shower real fast blow dryed her hair and found some cute clothes and did her makeup as fast as possible.

It was 5:45 and Brandi was standing there waiting for Derek. Next thing she knows someone runs up from behind her with a gun to her back and says “Stay quiet and follow me and do not scream.” She started panicking, her heart was racing. He took her to a older black car and told her to get in and buckle up. She got in and buckled up. On the drive she just stared at him and realized he was older and not the guy he said he was. He took her to an old abandoned looking building. He took her inside and brought her into a small room with a bucket and bed. He told her to lie on the bed so she did and he tied her hands and feet up and then left the room and locked it with a padlock from the outside.

It was hours and hours and she was just lying there scare, tired, and cold. She heard a car, it must of been him she thought. It was, he came in and had a bag full of stuff. Then she closed her eyes and pretended she was anywhere but there. Next thing she knows someone busted the door down, it was the police, her parents, and Jasmine. The police made the man put his hands up and arrested him. They went and untied Brandi from the bed. She was sad and crying and ran and hugged her parents and Jasmine. She said “How did you find me, how’d you know i was here?” Jasmine told her she went through her phone and seen the messages and called her parents and told her so they followed the man and her from the school. Jasmine and Brandi both started crying and hugged each other and they took Jasmine and Brandi  home. When Brandi got home she went and deleted all of her online accounts and never touched her mother's laptop again.
